Board Member Bios

Mr. William Kaplan:

Bill is an attorney practicing law in Joliet, Illinois, and an avid tennis player.  Bill is president of the board.

Mrs. Harriet Barnett:

Harriet is a graduate of the University of Illinois, moved to Joliet in 1968, and has been an active member of our congregation and several other organizations ever since.  Harriet is vice-president of the board.

 

Mr. James Kaplan:

Jim is a retired meteorologist and 25-year volunteer AARP Tax Aide who enjoys extended bike rides.  Jim is treasurer of the board.

Mr. Jim Hillman:

Jim is a lifelong resident of Joliet and member of Joliet Jewish Congregation.  He is a graduate of the University of Illinois, and resides locally with his wife, Deena, and their children, Matti, Harry and Max.  Jim is the owner of several Midas Muffler Shops and is the board’s financial clerk.

Mrs. Dianne Parker:

Dianne is a retired teacher, proud grandmother and former president of Joliet Jewish Congregation.

Mr. Steve Orloff:

Steve has been in the real estate business for 10 years in Joliet and is the chairperson of the Cemetery Committee.

 Mrs. Wendy Berman:

Wendy works at Document Imaging Dimensions, Inc. in Yorkville and lives in Morris with her husband and two children, Mac and Zachary.

Mrs. Robin English:

Robin is the Freshman Academy Coordinator for Joliet Township High School and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Ms. Amanda-Rose Hicks-Barnhardt:

Amanda-Rose recently relocated to Joliet, is an active volunteer and canine aficionado.

Mrs. Karen Luksa:

Karen is a retired Junior High Language Arts teacher and takes pleasure in spending time with her husband and dog.

Mrs. Randi McCauley:

Randi works for a financial investment company, and resides in Plainfield with her husband and two dogs.

Ms. Amy Schoeneck:

Amy is an Educator who enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with friends.

Mrs. Bea Scholar: 

Bea, a life-long Joliet resident, is and has been an active member of the Joliet Jewish Congregation for many years.

Mr. Steve Friedman:

Steve is president of Dr. Robert Friedman and Sons Stamp and Coin Company located in Woodridge.  Steve enjoys fishing and spending time with his favorite gal.

Mrs. Kimberly Floss:

Kim Floss has 25+ years of experience as an Information Technology professional.  She has worked in a variety of industries including public utility, health care, advertising, and consumer packaged goods.  She had held several volunteer positions including Vice President of Village Square Townhouse Association, President of the International Oracle User Group, and Vice President of the SAP DB2 Technical Leadership Exchange. Her family has been a member of Joliet Jewish Congregation since 2012.
